After months of work, dust, and inconvenience, we can finally proudly present: the Vrijdagmarkt is back! This charming square, cherished by many Antwerpians as one of the coziest meeting places in the city, shines again in all its glory. And we are of course celebrating this with a big party! 🥳

The Vrijdagmarkt has been a place where people come together to taste, shop, and enjoy for decades. From a morning coffee to an evening out with friends: the mix of cafés, restaurants, and boutiques makes the square unique. Now that the construction work is behind us, everyone can rediscover what makes this piece of Antwerp so special.

The celebration program on Saturday, September 6, 2025

To celebrate the reopening in style, a festive program is ready:

  • 3:00 PM – Official inauguration by the district mayor, accompanied by the fanfare ’t Akkoord.

  • From 4:30 PM – DJ GiGi Voyage will bring music that makes you want to move.

Additionally, the participating businesses will offer special promotions, tastings, and little surprises. It’s the perfect moment to discover new flavors or just to stroll around and enjoy.
