Instead of selling the plants themselves, the merchants have collectively purchased 500 azaleas and thus directly supported Kom op tegen Kanker. They will then gift these plants to customers who shop in the area during the action week.
This way, shopping locally becomes a small gesture with a warm story behind it.
How does the action work?
Very simple:
From September 12 to 19, you can shop at the participating businesses in De Wilde Zee.
With your purchase, you will receive a sticker on your action card. Collect 3 stickers from 3 different participating businesses and your card will be full.
With that full card, you can come to the central square of De Wilde Zee on Saturday, September 19, between 10 AM and 6 PM. There, you will receive, while supplies last, an azalea as a gift.

500 plants, one collective gesture
The action is primarily driven by the commitment of the local entrepreneurs. Together, they purchased 500 plants and thus contribute to the important work of Kom op tegen Kanker.
At the same time, they want to thank their customers. Because a vibrant shopping district is not only created by the entrepreneurs who open their doors every day, but also by the people who consciously choose to come and shop, have a drink, or discover a new address.
And that deserves, according to De Wilde Zee, a little flower now and then. Or in this case: a plant.
An extra good reason for a stroll in De Wilde Zee
De Wilde Zee is anyway a delightful place to wander around. The car-free streets, boutiques, specialty shops, well-known brands, and eateries make the area one of the most characterful shopping districts in the center of Antwerp.
From September 12 to 19, you have an extra reason to drop by. Discover three participating businesses, fill your card, and come pick up your plant on Saturday.
