Fans of true crime, thrillers, and unsolved mysteries can mark Saturday, October 10, 2026, in their calendars. During Crime Night, Play Zuid in Antwerp transforms into the backdrop for an evening filled with true crime, exciting stories, and conversations with authors and experts.

From Jack the Ripper and the attacks in Zaventem to the work of a forensic doctor and the question of whether Belgium is a narco-state: the program explores the world of crime from various angles.

True Crime and Thrilling Stories on the Main Stage

Crime Night brings together several well-known names for short talks and stories.

At 7:15 PM, forensic investigator Helen Goedger, Caroline Van den Berghe, and Barend Coochez will discuss the attacks in Zaventem and their experiences as the first on the scene.

Later in the evening, Hallie Rubenhold will delve deeper into one of the most famous mysteries in crime history: who was Jack the Ripper?

Astrid Holleeder is also on the program, discussing hiding from her criminal brother. Forensic doctor Babette Van Rafelghem will provide insight into her daily work.

From the Belgian Drug World to International Thrillers

At 10:15 PM, former Commissioner General of the Federal Police Ine Van Wymersch will take the stage to address the question: "Narcostate Belgium: true or false?"

The evening will conclude on the main stage with thriller author Chris Carter, who will share his remarkable journey from stripper, profiler, and guitarist to bestselling author.

More True Crime at De Tafel

In addition to the main stage, there is a second program at De Tafel.

Samuël Leistedt will explore the mindset of serial killers, sex offenders, and terrorists. Stefan Laenen will then take visitors through crimes from the Kille Kempen.

Thus, Crime Night offers both well-known international crime cases and stories and themes from closer to home.

A Festival Evening for True Crime Fans

Crime Night is more than a classic lecture. The festival brings together authors, researchers, journalists, and experts for an evening where fiction and true crime stories meet.

Those who enjoy listening to true crime podcasts, devouring thrillers, or are fascinated by crime investigations will find five hours of stories and discussions to dive into.
