Bookstore Stad Leest Celebrates 15 Years with a Festive Autumn in Antwerp

Fifteen years of books, meetings, stories, and friendships. Bookstore Stad Leest will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2026 and will not let this milestone pass by unnoticed. A grand birthday party is planned for September 18, followed by a full festive week from November 9 to 15.

What started in 2011 as the dream of Sofie and Wouter has grown into a beloved independent bookstore in Antwerp, all while keeping the original DNA in mind.

Fifteen Years of Stad Leest

Bookstore Stad Leest began in 2011 from a simple love for books and the desire to build a bookstore of its own.

Fifteen years later, Stad Leest is much more than a place to buy books. The store has become a meeting place for readers, authors, and curious Antwerpians, hosting signings, discussions, and other literary activities throughout the year.

For Sofie and Wouter, the anniversary is primarily a moment to thank everyone who has been part of the story: employees, friends, authors, and of course, the many customers.

The anniversary will be celebrated on Friday, September 18, with Bookstore Stad Feest.

For one evening, Stad Leest will move to a special location in Antwerp to celebrate fifteen years of the bookstore with customers, friends, and book lovers.

Expect an evening where meeting, music, and celebration are at the center. Or as Stad Leest summarizes it: dancing and mingling with your favorite bookstore.

A Full Festive Week in November

But that’s not all. From November 9 to 15, 2026, Stad Leest will organize a full festive week in the bookstore.

During this week, Sofie and Wouter will welcome various heroes and inspiring guests who will add color to the anniversary year.

It will be a week where books, authors, discussions, and meetings take center stage once again.
